Many patients that come to Elna Dental complain about tooth sensitivity and feeling pain when they drink cold liquids or eat sweet and acidic foods. The three main reasons tooth sensitivity occurs are the following:
- Receding gums
- Tooth grinding
- Chipped or fractured teeth

If you are experiencing any of these issues, visiting Elna Dental will help you examine the affected teeth and recommend treatment to reduce your sensitivity. Some of the treatments can include a night-guard which protect your enamel from the grinding habits or tissue grafts to restore receding gums that cause teeth sensitivity.
In the meantime, here are a few solutions we recommend you try to relieve your pain:
1- Toothpaste for sensitive teeth. We recommend using Sensodyne toothpaste twice a day in particular as it helps repair vulnerable areas

2- Do not brush your teeth too vigorously as it may cause gum recession which can lead to sensitive teeth. We also recommend the use of a soft toothbrush
3- Avoid acid based foods and soft drinks will limit overall sensitivity of your teeth
4- Avoid grinding your teeth as it wears down enamel

Elna Dental's team of experts take the time to listen and find personalized solutions to counter these problems and are committed to optimize your overall dental health
